Osumi Canyons
Osum Canyons are one of southern Albania’s most spectacular natural wonders, located near the town of Çorovodë. Carved by the Osum River over millions of years, the canyons stretch for several kilometers, creating dramatic cliffs, narrow gorges, and breathtaking rock formations that showcase the power and beauty of nature.
The canyons are particularly popular for adventure tourism, including rafting, kayaking, hiking, and canyoning. During the spring and early summer, the river swells, making rafting trips especially thrilling, while in the drier months, visitors can explore the rugged terrain on foot, discovering hidden pools, caves, and natural rock bridges along the way.
Beyond adventure, the Osum Canyons are also visually stunning. The steep cliffs, layered rock patterns, and emerald-green waters create a photographer’s paradise, while the surrounding forests and hills add to the sense of isolation and natural beauty.
The canyons are accessible from nearby villages, making them an ideal destination for day trips or multi-day excursions. Whether seeking adventure, photography opportunities, or simply the serenity of nature, Osum Canyons offer an unforgettable experience in one of Albania’s most dramatic landscapes.
